What are you looking for?

How it works

No experience, no special equipment, no beliefs required.

Step 1

Book

Pick a session that works for you. Sound baths, drum circles, or 1:1 treatments.

Step 2

Show up and let go

No experience needed. Whether you're lying down to listen or picking up a drum, your body knows what to do.

The science behind the sound

Sound therapy isn't magic, it's physiology. Here's what's happening when you lie down and listen.

Brainwave Entrainment

Specific sound frequencies guide your brainwaves into relaxed alpha and theta states, the same states associated with deep meditation and creativity.

Vagus Nerve Stimulation

The vibrations from gongs and singing bowls stimulate the vagus nerve, activating your body's rest-and-digest response. The opposite of stress mode.

Nervous System Regulation

Many people experience a shift from fight-or-flight into deep calm. Your nervous system responds to sound whether you're concentrating or not.

Why we say "don't expect anything"

Anticipation activates the thinking brain, which is the opposite of what we want. The less you try to make something happen, the more your body can simply respond.

What to expect

Never been to a sound bath? Here's exactly what happens.

Step 1

Arrive & settle

Get there 5-10 minutes early. Find a spot, take your shoes off, and let the day fall away.

Step 2

Lie down

Yoga mats, blankets, and pillows are all provided. Get comfortable - this is your time.

Step 3

Let the sound work

Close your eyes. 60-75 minutes of gongs, singing bowls, and chimes wash over you. Some people drift off. Some stay aware. Both are fine.

Step 4

Come back gently

No rush. Take your time. Most people feel deeply relaxed, some feel energised. Everyone feels something.

I can’t even put into words how magical and otherworldly this experience with James was. I really felt transported to another place, a place of peace, connection, positive energy and invigoration. An incredible experience with this SUPER talented and lovely guy. I’ve had a number of sound baths over the years but this one was next level and I can honestly say James was one of the coolest guys around and very knowledgeable when it comes to the positive influence (and science) behind sound therapy… and just sound in general! If you do one thing this year to experience something extraordinary make it a visit to James. It’ll undoubtedly be the best decision you can make.

Sound Bath

The drum circle led by James is a supportive, non judgemental space to lose yourself in the rythmn and have fun at the same time. For me its a mindful practice which liberates my mind and I leave feeling relaxed and uplifted. James creates a great energy and connects the group with such joy, enthusiasm and passion. I absolutely love each session and would highly recommend it to others who are looking for a mindful ,fun practice each month.

Drum Circle

James led a workshop for the team I work with. A drumming circle followed by a soundscape experience. It was a wonderful morning. We laughed together and shared a time of peace and tranquility in our busy schedules. No one really knew what to expect but all agreed it was a great experience. James's approach to the experience makes it really accessible, he doesn't take himself too seriously and makes it a place of fun, education and a break from the norm where you leave feeling in a good place. Would definitely reccomend you give it a try.

I came to sound therapy from a physics and music background, not just a spiritual one. What drew me in was the science - how vibration and frequency interact with your nervous system to produce measurable physiological changes. I run every session with that same curiosity: what works, why and how can I make the experience better for you.

Whether you're here because you're stressed, curious or just want to try something different - you don't need to believe anything. Just lie down and listen.

Step 3

Feel the difference

Many people leave feeling deeply relaxed, lighter, or more grounded. Two sessions is a fair test.

Common questions

Everything most people want to know before their first session.

What is a sound bath?+

A sound bath is a guided listening experience where you lie down comfortably while a practitioner plays gongs, singing bowls, chimes and other instruments around the room. You don't do anything — you just receive the sound. Sessions typically last 60–75 minutes and people often describe it as a deep, restful state somewhere between meditation and sleep.

Where in Kent are your sound baths held?+

We hold regular public sound baths at two venues: Loose Parish Pavilion (Loose, Maidstone, ME15 0HB) and the Royal British Legion (South Darenth, Dartford, DA4 9AB). Aerial sound baths run at Heavenly Fitness in Maidstone. We also serve Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Gravesend, Rochester, and the wider Kent area for 1:1 sessions and private bookings.

How long does a sound bath last?+

Group sound baths run for 60–75 minutes from start to finish. The active sound portion is around 45–60 minutes, with time at the start to settle in and at the end to come back gently. 1:1 sessions are typically 60 or 90 minutes depending on the treatment you choose.

What does a sound bath cost?+

Group sound baths are £20 for a ground-level mat space or £25 for a zero-gravity chair. Aerial sound baths (in hammocks) are £30. Drum circles are £10. 1:1 treatments start at £50 and a private group sound bath starts from £75. There's also an Intro Pass — two group sessions for £35 — if you'd like to try it twice before committing.

Is a sound bath suitable for beginners? Do I need any experience?+

Yes. No experience, beliefs, or musical knowledge required. You don't need to "do" anything — you simply lie down and listen. Most people who attend have never been to a sound bath before. The science-led approach means we don't require anyone to subscribe to any spiritual framework — though spiritually-inclined people are equally welcome.

What should I bring or wear?+

Wear comfortable, warm clothing — body temperature drops when you're still for an hour. Bring an extra layer or blanket if you tend to get cold. Mats are provided but you're welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Eye masks, cushions and pillows are also welcome. Avoid heavy meals in the 90 minutes before a session.

Are there any health conditions where a sound bath isn't suitable?+

Sound baths are generally suitable for most people, but please let us know in advance if you're pregnant (especially first trimester), have a pacemaker, have epilepsy, or are currently in acute mental health crisis. We can discuss whether a session is right for you, or suggest an alternative format. Many people with anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, and stress-related conditions find sound baths supportive — though we make no medical claims.

How do I book?+

Browse upcoming sessions on our Events page and book online — payment is via card and you'll receive a confirmation immediately. For 1:1 sessions, private group bookings, or corporate wellness enquiries, use the Contact page. Most public sessions have limited spaces, especially the aerial sound baths, so booking ahead is recommended.
