The Sonic Sanctuary's Dartford-area sessions run at the Royal British Legion in South Darenth (DA4 9AB) — just off the A225, ten minutes south of Dartford town centre, free parking on site. The vast majority of people who attend come from Dartford itself, Gravesend, Swanley, Bexley, Greenhithe, and the South Darenth and Horton Kirby villages. A handful drive in from Bromley and Sevenoaks too.

If you've been curious about sound baths but were put off by the idea of driving into central London or down to Brighton, this is the closest regular public session for most of the Dartford area. No experience needed, no beliefs required — you lie down, you listen, the hour does what it does.

What runs in Dartford

Group sound bath

from £20

A 60–75 minute session of gongs, singing bowls, chimes and other instruments. Lie down on a ground-level mat (£20) or sit back in a zero-gravity chair (£25). You don't do anything — you receive the sound.

Drum circle

£10

More active, more rhythm-led. A facilitated drumming session where you sit in a circle and play. Drums are provided. No musical background needed — most people walking in have never drummed before. Great for groups, families, and anyone who wants something more energising than a sound bath.

Questions people ask before their first Dartford session

Is the venue actually in Dartford?

It's in South Darenth, which is part of the Dartford district — about a 10-minute drive south of the town centre, just off the A225. Easy access from the A2 and M25 (Junction 2). Postcode DA4 9AB.

Can I park?

Yes — the Royal British Legion has free parking right outside. Quiet road, easy to find a space. You won't need to pay or hunt.

I've never done a sound bath before — is that a problem?

Most people who come to our Dartford sessions have never done one before. No briefing required — you turn up, you find a mat, you lie down. No chanting, no incense, no asking-the-universe-for-anything. Science-led approach. If sceptics show up, they tend to enjoy it the most.

What if I'm travelling from Gravesend or Bexley?

South Darenth is about 15 minutes from Gravesend and 20 from Bexley, mostly on dual carriageway. The A2 and M25 both make it pretty quick. The 477 bus also runs through South Darenth from Dartford if you'd rather not drive.

How often do sessions run?
